HB 318 was signed into law by Governor McCrory on October 28th, 2015, despite weeks of protests, phone calls, and petitions requesting his veto. El Pueblo, alongside grassroots organizations and allies throughout the state vigorously opposed this legislation as a mean-spirited attack on immigrants and poor people in the state. Now that it is law, we will continue to organize until all North Carolinians can live with dignity, regardless of their immigration status.
