The Ventanilla de Salud is a program launched by El Pueblo, Inc. along with the Government of Mexico, through the Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh, North Carolina to serve an average of 400 Mexican nationals per day that visit the consulate.
The objective of this program is to provide quality bilingual, bicultural healthcare education, and referrals to not only Mexican nationals and their families but to all the latino population that visits the Ventanilla de Salud.
With this program, El Pueblo Inc. is offering the opportunity to many Latino families to improve their Health and prevent it from deteriorating by collaborating with Health Agencies so that individuals can be referred depending on their health problem and economical situation.
One of the main goals of this program is to offer assistance in the enrollment of Latinos in programs providing public benefits, and even in those that do not require medical insurance and that the healthcare is at low cost or for free.
The Ventanilla de Salud will also focus on disseminating health information through one-to-one educational interventions as well as group presentations at the Consulate and provide necessary counseling to enable Latino families to establish a relationship with a healthcare facility.
