Mentes Fuertes

Mentes Fuertes is a collaboration between El Pueblo and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC-G) to provide free, culturally grounded mental health support to adults (18+) in North Carolina who speak Spanish, English, or Arabic.

Through 10 free, one-on-one psychoeducational sessions, participants receive tools to improve their emotional well-being, reduce stress, and build resilience. Sessions can be held in person or over the phone, making them accessible regardless of where you live in the state.

Mental health field

The experience of working in the mental health field through the Mentes Fuertes program has been—and continues to be—deeply enriching both personally and professionally. It gives me the tremendous gratification of being able to open the door for many people in my community to find ways to live fuller lives by reducing stress, depression, and anxiety, and by breaking the stigma around mental health. The results are highly rewarding.
