The nonprofit, El Pueblo, welcomes Bachata artist, Monchy, to La Fiesta del Pueblo.
RALEIGH, NC.- The organization, El Pueblo, has invited the well-known bachata music artist, Monchy, to be part of their annual festival, La Fiesta del Pueblo this year. La Fiesta del Pueblo takes place Sunday, September 21 from 12PM – 6PM on Fayetteville St. in downtown Raleigh.
Ramon Rijo, known professionally as “Monchy”, began his music career at an early age in his hometown of La Romana, Dominican Republic where he learned to play the piano, guitar, and took vocal lessons. He was inspired by the “Bolero” genre, which has shaped his career in Bachata music as he grew from musical student to musical artist. His most widely successful hits in the Latin music scene, “Hoja en Blanco” and “Hasta el Fin”, continue to be enjoyed and loved by many to this day.
Monchy released his “first-ever solo album “Primogénito” in 2020”. With new singles such as “Se Gana y se Pierde”, this incredible Dominican artist is ready to bring bachata to the stage at La Fiesta del Pueblo this upcoming September 21.
El Pueblo is excited to present Monchy as the headlining musical act for La Fiesta del Pueblo. As a festival celebrating the Latin American heritage and culture of North Carolinians, La Fiesta del Pueblo will also showcase talent from local musical artists and dance performers throughout the day. This festival is organized by the local nonprofit, El Pueblo, which advocates for the Latin American community in Wake County and surrounding areas. This year, El Pueblo is celebrating their 30 anniversary.
“A year after the first La Fiesta del Pueblo was held, the non-profit organization, El Pueblo, was officially incorporated to serve the Latin American community in NC.” said Veronica Aguilar, Communications Director at El Pueblo. “This year, we’re celebrating 30 years of working with our community to make NC a better place for us all through El Pueblo. We’re excited to have an act like Monchy at La Fiesta del Pueblo to help us celebrate 30 years of El Pueblo.”
At La Fiesta del Pueblo, attendees can expect local Latin American food trucks, artisanal vendors, dance performers, musical artists, resources provided by local nonprofits, and a play area for kids. To learn more about this festival click here
