RALEIGH, N.C. — The regional Mexican band, Banda Zeta will be performing at the largest Latin American festival in the triangle, La Fiesta del Pueblo , organized by the local non-profit, El Pueblo. The festival takes place on Sunday, September 17th, from 12 PM-6 PM on Fayetteville St. in Raleigh, NC.
Banda Zeta was formed in the state of Nayarit, Mexico in 1993. Their most recognizable song, “La Niña Fresa”, topped the charts in both the U.S. and Mexico in the mid 90’s. Popular also, was their cover in Spanish of the famous Eagles’ song, “Hotel California”.
The Band will be joining the stage of La Fiesta del Pueblo, a festival celebrating the Latin American heritage and culture of North Carolinians. This festival is organized by the local nonprofit, El Pueblo, which advocates for the Latin American community in Wake County and surrounding areas. In 2022, the festival returned to an in-person celebration in downtown Raleigh following a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That year, the festival drew over 24,000 attendees.
At La Fiesta del Pueblo, attendees can expect local Latin American food trucks, artisanal vendors, dance performers, other musical artists, resources provided by local nonprofits, and a play area for kids.
